Mp3 Manny

A week ago while Bostonist was watching the Red Sox play the Texas Rangers a little window popped up on the computer - an Instant Message from our buddy, saying, "Holy crap, Manny's wearing Oakley Thump glasses in the outfield." "Excuse me?" said Bostonist. "Yeah dude, you know those Oakleys that have the built-in mp3 player? Manny's got those on!" Bostonist's pal replied.
How did he know? Well, said friend is blessed to be the proud watcher of High Definition television and noticed it after pausing the game briefly to get a phone call. To prove it, he sent Bostonist a photo of his television screen with said "Thump" glasses in full prominent display. Over the past week this tidbit of information has started popping up in various places, but without the visual proof. To help illustrate what everyone's talking about, we present to you the photographic evidence that Manny Ramirez, like hundreds of thousands of other people in the world, enjoys listening to his MP3's while at work. Shoot, Bostonist is sitting here psuedo-working (because, we all know that there is no pay-for-posting going on here), listening to some Miles Davis.
In all fairness to Manny, Sox officials have stated that there were no batteries in the glasses. God forbid!

those are seriously cool. my finace would love these. too bad they are $300 for the 128mb ones. just not worth it, since he tends to break sunglasses after owning them for a week or so.
I'll tell you what. I don't beleive for a SECOND that there weren't batteries in those. Its Manny being Manny.
Seriously, what's the big deal? It's not like he's ever paying that much attention, and what does he need to hear, anyway (except, you know, the infielders telling him where to throw or the shortstop calling him off on a pop-up)?
