Bostonist Rates The Globe Bizcasts
You don't need to have a podcast that old to be considered old school. The Boston Globe Bizcasts started way back in June, long before iTunes threw their hat into the ring. The Bizcast is great as it is always exciting to see businesses take a chance on a new technology as a way of bringing content. At first Bostonist thought it was odd for the business section to be the only section with a podcast but after noticing it's run by DC Denison, who is the technology editor under the business section umbrella, it all made perfect sense.
The Bizcast focuses on current business issues. Although they tackle the national issues, the Bizcast does a good job of bringing it back to Boston even if it's talking about Steven Tyler's "Talking Street" tour of Boston. Every episode ends with Peter Post, the grandson of Emily Post, talking about business etiquette such as shaking hands and keeping your toenail clippings outside of the office.
The podcast is interesting and engaging though done in a talk-only NPR style format. There are no bells and whistles (in the figurative and literal sense) or other musical acompanyment and humor for the most part isn't included. If you are interested in, well, the business section of The Boston Globe, then you should check this podcast out. If you are more interested in hearing about Boston than business, this might not be the podcast for you.
