Tír na nÓg is Not Closing. Yet.

There's something about these little bars. They've got a lot of fight in them and they just won't give in. The Littlest Bar kept on keeping on for months after the initially announced closing date. Tir na nÓg is following suit. First it was February, now it's March. Another month's reprive has been granted and the nÓg will serve up many more pints. There will be another St. Patrick's day to celebrate before the nÓg closes their doors.

The first we'd heard of the news was from a MySpace bulletin posted by the Friends of Tir na nÓg titled "St. Patrick has granted us another miracle reprieve"

Yep- word is out on the street- we can have our traditional St. Paddy's day evening of responsible drinking, the bar will be open for the month of March!!!!!!!!
We've been hearing other rumors swirl around Union Square, the word on the street is that a sports themed bar will be taking over the space after some renovations. Meanwhile the last call countdown clock on the official Tir na nÓg website has been reset and the calendar of events and live music is being populated for March.
