Zipcar and MBTA, Sitting in a Tree
Zipcar and MBTA have formed an alliance, and Zipcars have been positioned at various MBTA stations to make life even easier for occasional drivers.
A total of 24 Zipcars will be at the following T stops:
Red line - Alewife, JFK/UMass, Savin Hill, North Quincy, Quincy Center, Quincy Adams
Green line - Riverside, Woodland, Brookline Village
Orange line - Forest Hills, Malden, Oak Grove
Blue line - Left all alone at this time. Show the blue line a little love, people!
Silver line - Also left alone, but as it is a car in it's own right, it doesn't count.
The Zipsters celebrated their expansion today at South Station. They parked a Nissan named "Veggie" in the middle of the floor. Alas, we missed the music, but the Zipsters were holding a Zipcar "Wheel of Fortune" in which passers-by could spin a wheel for various prizes.
Potential Zipcar drivers spun for driving passes and T-shirts, but most of them were getting "mystery prizes." Bostonist saw one guy who was underwhelmed with his mystery prize – a hat – and he gave it back. High expectations!

I lived in Seattle for the past 3 years and because of the lack of transportation (no subways and limited bus service) they had zip cars throughout the city. It worked very well. Lots of people had great things to say about their service. I have never used their service but based on the feedback i had from friends,I would give them a thumbs up.
Finally!!! ZIPCAR in MALDEN!
