Tourfilter DJ Night: Bigger and Better

tourfilterdjnight20.jpg

Last month Chris Marstall founder of Tourfilter headlined the first ever Tourfilter DJ Night at River Gods in Cambridge. He played a set from the Tourfilter mixtape, all from bands that were hitting the Hub in the near future. He packed the house and they asked him back. Thursday, April 19 he crams himself back up into the DJ station at River Gods to bring the second ever Tourfilter DJ Night, this time he's bringing along the special guests. Matt Shaer of hardcorbeau (it appears he's left the Globe) and Brad Searles of Bradley's Almanac will offer up their own sets as part of the evening. They'll be tossing out tunes from 9 pm to 1 am at 125 River St., Cambridge.

In addition to the three crammed into the DJ booth the text messaging service Tourfilter has been trying out will have an added feature. On any given night you can send "tonight" in a text message to MSGME (67463) on your mobile and receive back a listing of what and where is playing the scene for the evening. During the show you can send "tourfilter" to MSGME and get back the artist currently playing at the River Gods show and the when and where they'll be playing the area next. Innovation and use of technology leaves the internets on this one. it beams right on to your cell phone without having to bother the guys in the booth to ask "who's that you're playing" - the bonus bonus is that it even tells you when you can find out when to catch the act live.
