Bite Size News, September 23: More Train Issues To Worry About Edition

Bostonist knows... Bostonist knows... Spring Training is wrapping up, and the boys of summer are due north in a couple weeks time, so most of this space will be dedicated to our beloved Red Sox over the next few months. But, Bostonist has some unfinished business with the New England Patriots organization, Head Coach Bill Belichick, and owner Robert Kraft. As all Bostonists are now aware, the Pats lost some pretty large parts this...

Show me the MONEY! That seems to be the theme of the 2006 off-season of the New England Patriots. This week alone, the Pats lost 2 mainstays of their Dynasty, losing Willie McGinest to old friend Romeo Crennel and the Cleveland Browns, and a day earlier David Givens to the Tennessee Titans. 5 Super Bowl rings just walked out the door... and the predominant question on Bostonist's mind is: "Why"? Well, before we go crying...

The just keep on truckin’, don’t they. The defending World Champs, the New England Patriots, masterfully disassembled the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars yesterday at Gillette stadium in Bostonist's satellite office in Foxboro, 28-3. The Pats advanced through the Wild Card round of the National Football League’s playoffs, and are awaiting the results of Sunday's games which will determine whether they will travel to Denver to face the Broncos, or Indianapolis for a rematch with good old Peyton Manning.

The Patriots were basically playing what would be considered the second string, if this were earlier in the season, due to their rash of...

Ahh.. The Pats... what a squad, eh? Less than a week after being left for dead in Foxboro at the hands of the NFL's best team, the Indianapolis Colts, the Pats were back on the field facing a divisional foe, the Miami Dolphins, in a critical AFC East matchup. The Patriots were banged up, big time. David Givens was out. Corey Dillon was active, but after a single play didn't return to the Pats lineup. The secondary was in shambles. And early in this game the requiem for the Patriots' dynasty was being written... that is, until Tom took matters into his own hands.

While Tom Brady was hardly the focus of Sunday night's contest, the Patriots were able to overcome a 16-7 4th quarter deficit and rally to overcome the visiting Buffalo Bills 21-16. The minions of "the Krafty one" were able to pull of an inspiring comeback that began with a meager 10:37 remaining in the contest. After a penalty-filled lackluster contest in the first half that ended 3-0 in favor of the visiting Bills, the Pats...
